Klenzestrasse, Munich
Super tasty pizza and very nice people. However, I would order / eat there much more often if card payment were also possible.
Really a special kind of pizza that also tastes super good. In addition, the ambience is very nice and the service is first class.
We had a reservation and it took more than 30 min to get the table, we got a little apéro while waiting but I think they should be better organized Mood is nice, but loud Munich The service was really nice ! Food wise, had the truffle pasta which were a bit simple, compared to ones I had in Munich It was good but was expecting a bit more
My wife and I wanted to enjoy a date night and reserved a table for two at 8PM. We got an email confirmation that our spots were booked. Upon arrival two couple were waiting in front of us. They too had table reservations for 8PM. Nobody seemed to care that all six of us were waiting outside in the cold. After waiting for a significant amount of time multiple Staffs went by made eye contact and kept going. We asked about our confirmed reservation and were only told that even with a booking confirmation they can’t guarantee a spot. No one gave us any information of what to expect. No apologies what. No estimate time of how much longer we would have to wait. My wife and I + one waiting couple in front of us ended up leaving to find a different restaurant. That was a very bad experience with a lack of care for customers whatsoever.
Food is good but grossly overpriced. The restaurant makes you hipster and is actually still in the Middle Ages ........ Card payment is not possible. Apparently only cash is true here. So I was allowed to walk to the next ATM in the pouring rain.
The food was good. But the music (gangster rap ...) didn't work at all and a waiter kept poking us on in a very intrusive way. That didn't work at all.
We went on a Monday late afternoon and had a great time. Staff was fun & friendly and really enjoyed the food. Also loved the industrial design. We will definitely be back!
Great food, great wines, but most importantly, really outstanding service! I loved the Beef Ragu.
Good, excellent meatballs, pasta lacked salt. The Italian warmth is unique.
The service is super warm, the atmosphere is very pleasant and the deep-fried pizza is very tasty but priced a bit too high. In summer and on warm evenings, you can sit outside nicely. Unfortunately, inside there is a smell of deep-frying fat because it is fried.
Overall: Decent restaurant with good food and attentive staff, yet with some major room for improvement as well. What is good: -- The portion size for starters is generous (we ordered an assortment of starters and were quite full even before the main courses arrived) -- The pulpo (octopus) and buffalo mozzarella are highly recommended as starters, as is the chocolate soufflé dessert (see pictures attached) -- Staff is attentive and friendly, and from our experience took the necessary Covid-19 precautions (masks, distance etc.) -- Decent ambience for a group dinner - our party size was 10 and managed to get a cozy table. Room for improvement: -- I'm not a fan of the fried dough food - this seems to be a trend at True Romance, both in main courses (fried dough Pizza) and even dessert ('Montanella' = fried dough Nutella) - in the end it wasn't all it was cracked up to be - not very healthy and not that tasty -- Hard to believe, but apparently all payments must be done in cash here. As a party of 10 we wanted to bundle the receipt into one payment by card, and believe it or not we were told that card payments are not accepted and that we have to pay in cash. This was a major inconvenience as we had to collect small amounts of cash from each person - not to mention the huge administrative hassle that we now have (1- remember who paid what and 2- organize to pay everyone back the right amounts). Even before the pandemic, paying by card should be the absolute norm in any professional establishment, but Covid-19 now makes this an imperative. The whole payment situation was not a great way to end the evening.
After one Neapolitan pizzeria (some great, some well) after the other opened in Munich, the True Romance offers a mix of the Neapolitan street food of the "friggitorie" and traditional dishes. You won't find a classic Margherita here, but you will find a fantastic deep-fried dough with e.g. Buffalo mozzarella and tomatoes or - a poem - with mortadella, ricotta and pistachios. The spaghetti with clams or the tagliolini al tartufo are great. Small restaurant, so maybe a bit noisy, but it doesn't really matter; super nice staff and amazing delicious croquettes ?
Absolutely world class Friday evening. Friendly service, delicious food and great wines. We'll be back ?
Appetizers and pasta were really good. But as already mentioned, the prices for the portion sizes are a bit steep. Personally, I didn't really like the pizza fritta. Unfortunately, the staff was not very friendly and rather rushed you to free the table again. So unfortunately not a place where you want to linger, just another hipster shop in Glockenbach that has no interest in attracting regular customers.
Was there spontaneously with my sister for the first time and was warmly welcomed immediately despite the very full restaurant. After a short wait, we got a table. We were well fed there. We especially enjoyed the drinks from the Neapolitan bartender. Conclusion: great food! Top drinks! And all paired with authentic Italian flair. Definitely try !!!
Suuuper personable and familiar. Our dogs were also very welcome. Happy to be a guest again at any time. We love you!!!
Very cool restaurant. The staff, the decor and of course the food convinced me. Finally something new in the bourgeois Munich, the fried pizza alone is worth a visit. The "Soul of Napoli" is simply amazing and recommendable. The staff is very courteous and always available for a casual comment.
Never eaten such a perfect pasta in Munich - that's called al dente! And the different variations of pizza fritta - a dream. The service was friendly and accommodating. The casual style gives the Neapolitan flair the finishing touch. All employees wore a mask when we visited. We would love to come back!
Under True Romance, I imagined something different. I wanted to make a nice evening for two and it didn't turn out so nice. Summarized: + beautiful location - pasta homemade = the reality was more like using leftovers where ingredients that were on the menu were missing - Service = were driven away after half an hour in the most unfriendly way, as new guests were queuing in front of the restaurant. You can save yourself a reservation. - Price = price performance is disproportionate Bottom line - a new hipster restaurant that I won't visit a second time.
It was okay, but I've eaten a lot better. But the prices were quite steep, which definitely means a star deduction. Unlike others described, the employees all wore face masks. The waiter was nice but much too slimy on it, which was really annoying at some point! Well attended, which is why it got very noisy over time and is difficult to talk to. But the shop isn't particularly big either
All good. But expandable. You have to like industrial design. Service was very good. Food was good, I missed the refined. And it could have been tasted a little better, the high quality of the products won out.
Forgetting orders, forget that you wanted to pay, spilling drink over you, but still demand paying full bill. Food was good.
Real neapolitan food with a fancy atmosphere. Spaghetti alle vongole was tasty and the clams were juice. I also tried the fried pizza, dough soft and weel leavened.
A really successful Italian, both in terms of ambience and service and of course the very authentic food. The pizza fritta in particular has to be tried. Soon there will be more outdoor spaces, then the whole thing is perfect! Greetings to the nice waiter with the hippie parents, who looked after us very nicely that evening;)
We were for a mini vacation in Monaco and looking for the curiosity of is stop on True Romance and I must say .... Very welcoming place, with a great atmosphere, soft music and good taste, the staff and kind and attentive the quality of the food and excellent honest prices! Absolutely Must try
Really nice atmosphere, super friendly staff, delicious food and fried pizza of course has to be mentioned. Pizza is already good, but fried pizza is double the pleasure. The octopus in my salad was very tender. And pasta with black truffle was absolutely amazing. Keep up the good work! Will be back soon?
I've been to True Romance several times and have loved the food every time. Authentic Italian food in the center of Munich. The restaurant is stylish but also very cozy.
Beautiful place, very kind staff, a new opening that here in Monaco is difficult to find, we ate three fried pizzas, fritturina, eggplant and meatballs parmesan, all delicious, the product is of quality. I recommend it and we will be back. Until next time.
It was a dream, highly recommended, the meatballs... epic, if you want a short trip to Naples you should definitely visit the True Romance!
The food is nice (if you like fried stuff) but the service could be improved - we did not get the ordered appetizers before the mains, they forgot / mixed up multiple orders and were pretty rude when bringing the orders. The location is extremely loud. Keeping a distance between tables is not possible. And, not relevant but weird, the menu is full of typos :-) from primi fresci to Pizza Fritta Classico.
Little southern Italian restaurant with very good and authentic food. I'll definitely go again!!
